Blackberry Blackpad

According to the Apple Daily, AIM will release its first tablet called Blackpad in November. Blackberry Blackpad features 9.7 inch touchscreen, a 1 GHz Marvell Processor and front and rear facing cameras and all the features make us associate Blackpad with Apple iPod. Actually we can see almost all the features of iPod on Blackpad.

Blackberry Blackpad will come with built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. Otherwise Blackberry Blackpad gets a key advantage over Apple iPod that is the users can connect their Blackpad to the internet by using their mobile phone’s wireless connection, but the users of Apple iPod have to pay separately for 3G network access.

Apple Daily also claims that Quanta won the bid to manufacture the tablet with plans to ramp up for 2 million units starting in September (for a November retail launch) with another 8 million planned for 2011. And Blackberry Blackpad priced at 499$ as the same as Apple iPod.

RIM already acquired the blackpad.com domain name this month. So we can confirm that Blackpad is a real device that AIM will release. But until now we still have a lot of uncertainty on the BlackPad Device’s features and specs.

It is obviously to see that Blackpad will be one of the fierce competitors to Apple iPod with its killer features. But some people don’t think so, they have already regarded iPod as the successful model and nobody wants to buy a clone thing of Apple iPod. Instead many consumers may worry that if the touchscreen technology applied on Blackpad will be as good as the iPad. As a result, whether AIM Blackberry Blackpad will get a slice of the tablet pie or not can not be ensured.
