Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Review

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
Sonny Ericsson has announced its flagship cell phone-Xperia Arc at CES 2011. Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc features streamline body, Android 2.3, powerful performance with Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine and No air-gap technology, making it a heavyweight Smartphone.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Appearance
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc inherits the same style as Xperia X10, especially the three buttons under the Screen. But compared with Xperia X10, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is more exquisite and stunning.
The front of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc comes with black and white version, featuring the unique Arc body, which is the scarce distinguishing design. The thinnest part of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc dynamic curves is only 8.7mm thick, just like a lady’s slim waist, making it the thinnest Smartphone in the world as iPhone only keeps the 9.9 mm thick record. From the exterior, the workmanship is general, but the plastic feel is a bit strong.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
The dimension of 125×63×8.7mm makes Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc look very wide, at least wider than the common Android cell phones. With a 4.2-inch touch screen, the frame of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is not that big, it’s believed that many people like such design.

The three buttons under the screen also inherits Sony Ericsson Android styles, resembling Xperia X10.

Besides the classic Sony Ericsson green ball, the focus in the back of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is the 8.1 megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture Exmor RTM.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Ports
The top of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
A power button is placed in the top, while the other side is the Micro HDMI port allows us to hook the Xperia Arc to the HD TV view images and videos, an important mark of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc as a flagship cell phone.

The right side of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is the shutter button, volume adjustment buttons and MicroUSB port.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Reality Display
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc screen is another light spot. Besides the retina display of Apple iPhone 4, Samsung Super AMOLED screen, many Android seems to lack the motive power in the aspect of screen. Sony Ericsson really does a great job this time.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc come with a 4.-inch screen, TFT touch screen with the resolution of 854×480. What’s more important, it’s the Reality Display with the support of Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine and No air-gap technology.

As to the memory, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc comes equipped with 512MB of ROM, 512MB of RAM, a standard 8GB memory card(included in the retail box), and supports external microSD card.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc memory card is inside the battery cover.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc score
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc surpasses the Nexus One with Android 2.2 excellently, becoming a new top.
In actual test, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc running speed can rate top in the Android cell phones, which runs smooth enough to rival iPhone 4.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Interface
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc runs Android 2.3 OS with the familiar Timescape interface. But the Timescape is updated after deep secondary customization.

In the new Timescape interface, we can put our favorite documents in the desktop with the programs inside. We can change the pattern of the icon as well as the name of the documents.

To our surprise, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc adopts Sony f/2.4 aperture mobile Exmor RTM camera, allowing taking high quality, high light pictures and HD 720P video even in the low light condition.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc photographic interface also inherits Xperia X10 simple menu, including the right picture playback bar and the left tool bar. Certainly, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc supports abundant photographic modes.

It’s no doubt that Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has many light spots in the function and configuration, but what worth of a greater concern is that Sony Ericsson new strategy showed by these light spots, such as the prospective System selection, Sony leading technology, and so on. We believed that Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc will be a good new star for Sony Ericsson. But how long will it stick on this road still need to see.
