iPad 2 will be shipping in February 2011.With speculation surrounding the features of the iPad 2 circulating the Internet everyday, the public interest on iPad 2 is also growing. Simply put, the iPad 2 could be a meaningful update over the existing device.
The most possible or desired features may be the following ones:
1. Two Cameras on iPad 2
With the success of Apple’s application of Facetime on the iPhone 4, it will be no surprise to see a camera on iPad 2, while iPad rival tablets Samsung Galaxy Tablet and Blackberry’s PlayBook both feature cameras make it more possible.
iPad 2 would comes with both front- and rear-facing cameras. It is rumored the front camera will be 3 megapixels and the back will be at least 5 megapixels with some kind of LED-flash. The ability to use Facetime allows owners to use their iPad 2 for video chatting with any other iPhone 4 owners, iPad 2 owners or Mac owners. Naturally we all want any inbuilt rear-facing camera to be able to record in at least 720 HP as the iPhone 4 do.
2. Retinal Screen on iPad 2
Will Apple use “retinal” screen on the iPad 2 as iPhone 4? If so, the screen resolution will update to four times, but iPad has much larger screen size than the iPhone. A “Retina” screen over a 9.7-inch area would result in far too many performance requirements for at least the current iPad to handle, so some dismiss it outright while others believe a Retina screen will appear, replete with more pixels and a greater pixel density. After all, the iPad is an entertainment-focused product, and the higher the quality of the screen, the more consumers will jump at the chance of getting it.
3. iPad 2 Dimension
iPad 9.7-inch screen size is exactly in between Smartphones and notebooks for Apple to open up a new market. Other manufacturers are out of the 7-inch Tablet PC, so there are rumors that Apple will launch 7-inch mini iPad. But that seems rather unlikely, and Steve Jobs also said that a 7-inch display doesn’t work for tablets.
However, iPad 2 will definitely be thinner and lighter than the current iPad. iPad features the thickness of 12.7 mm, the BlackBerry Playbook 9.7 mm, Samsung Galaxy Tab 12 mm. But do not forget, Apple always possible to do incredibly thin and light products, such as the iPhone and the new MacBook Air.
4. USB Port on iPad 2
The highly appreciated feature of iPad 2 is the added USB port. The USB port will allow users to upload documents, music, photos and movies from one device to another with ease. But people have also asked that a MicroUSB port also be included for charging purposes.
5. More Storage of iPad 2
Currently, Apple offers up to 64GB of storage in the iPad. But in the iPad 2, Apple should offer twice storage, which enables multi-tasking operation more handy. The iPad is a computer. More and more people are relying upon it to get their work done. If the device boasts more storage, they can add more content to the device.
6. iPad 2 Battery Life
The iPad 2 is also speculated to feature a much longer battery life. Although the current iPad has a long battery life, people expect the iPad 2 to last much longer as it is a portable device. Users want to be able to travel with their iPad for a number of days without the need of charging every night.
If anyone can do it, Apple can, but as always, it will seem like magic if and when it happens! So Apple can give us how much iPad surprise, only to be seen.
