On 20th october,2009,Apple released a new Magic Mouse that Apple boasts  “the world’s first multi-touch mouse” . The mouse has no buttons or scroll wheels but just a wireless pointer with a smooth top shell.It will be available in late October with the price $69.

“Apple is the Multi-Touch leader, pioneering the use of this innovative technology in iPhone, iPod touch and Mac notebook trackpads,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “Apple’s Multi-Touch technology allows us to offer an easy to use mouse in a simple and elegant design.”

The Multi-Touch area covers the top surface of Magic Mouse.If you want to scroll through a Web page or document,you move your finger up and down the mouse’s top surface. Moving your one finger along the Multi-Touch surface to scroll in any direction and to pan a full 360 degrees –easy for viewing and editing large photos. Hold down the Control key on your keyboard and scroll with one finger on Magic Mouse to enlarge items on your screen.Magic Mouse has a chip , it knows exactly what you want to do. And the Magic Mouse won’t confuse a scroll with a swipe.

Magic Mouse connects wirelessly to your Mac via Bluetooth, so the Magic Mouse can work wirelessly up to 33 feet away from a host computer. It runs on two AA batteries (included) and features power management.The mouse can help you to power on/off your laptop with a click of the on/off switch.

The magic mouse is not just a multi-touch device, you also can turn off the multi-touch features and use Magic Mouse as a conventional device too.

If you want to use this Magic Mouse with your laptop, your laptop should meet these requirements: your laptop should be a bluetooth-enabled Mac computer, the Magic Mouse requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later  with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0, of course, the existing keyboard and mouse can be used as a basic device.
