HP TouchPad Tablet Revealed
Apple iPad 2 is still not surfaced, but there is another upcoming competitor-HP TouchPad, which is revealed on Feb 10. HP TouchPad comes with WebOS, 9.7-inch screen, Qualcomm dual-core processor, and Beats Audio technology. Meanwhile, HP TouchPad also can support Flash and video chat. However, HP TouchPad is expected to go retail on this summer, which is later than Apple iPad 2 that is rumored to release on Apr 2011.

HP TouchPad will strong enough to rival Apple iPad, because Palm has the same online software shop, business mode as Apple, while the software and hardware of HP TouchPad also stays the same level with Apple iPad 2. HP TouchPad comes equipped with 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 dual-core processor, 9.7-inch 1024×768 capacitive multi-touch screen, Bluetooth 2.1 and EDR with the optional 32GBN and 16 GB version. Additionally, HP TouchPad is also available for 1.3 megapixels webcam, light sensor, acceleratory sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope and Beats Audio System.
As same as Apple iPad, HP TouchPad has the 3G + Wi-Fi version and Wi-Fi only version, while the 3G version is available for A-GPS. In addition, HP TouchPad minimum weight is 740, heavier than iPad 680 g.

As to the ports, HP TouchPad is available for the USB 3.0 and HDMI port, which the iPad also doesn’t have.
HP TouchPad also supports WiFi, WCDMA, CDMA, LTE, the latter three of which support A-GPS. Regarding to the battery life, it’s expected to last at least 5 hours, which is on the condition of opening communication function.

The 3G version of HP TouchPad support message and real-time communication as well as video chat with the front-facing camera. Meanwhile, HP TouchPad also pre-installs the word processing software to edit Google files and support wireless printing.  As to the multimedia, the video formats that HP TouchPad supports are few-only the regular MPEG-4 H.263、H.264, but with the Beats Audio, the sound effect must be awesome. A recent laptop reliability survey about three year malfunction rates by manufacturer has come out according to the PC warranty providers SquareTrade. SquareTrade randomly selected over 30,000 laptops and netbooks for the study.
